No Fishing At Grand Isle!

Well, there is no fishing at Grand Isle, LA this weekend!
The wife is heading to a bridal party in Biloxi, MS thiss weekend, so I came up with the idea of taking the kids (we have 3) over to Grand Isle for a little fishing. My littlest one was very excited, my middle one wanted to just stay home and play video games, and my teenage daughter just gave me a blank stare about the whole fishing trip. As for myself, I couldn’t wait!
We were planning on camping out on the beaches. I envisioned landing monster specks in the middle of the night, while being able to cast from the tent. That sounded like a real good plan, but then this cold front drifted in. Normally, we can count on a good 70 degrees or so this time of year in South Louisiana, but not this weekend. This weekend it feels more like Yankee territory down here. I looked at weather dot com today for the Grand Isle weekend report. It wasn’t good at all. Early morning temperatures were around 30 something. Noon temps were around forty something. To compound things, the wind was going to be kicking. This is not the best case scenario for hunting redfish or speckled trout in Grand Isle. Not at all.
So what are we going to do now? I think we will have a movie day tomorrow. That’s where we show up at the theater around noon and watch as many movies as we can until they kick us out. It’s not as fun as fishing on the Gulf Coast, but at least we will be doing something. How about you? Got any plans for this cold weekend?
